Adobe Premiere Elements Video Editing review:5 stars (Extremely userfriendly) - I have no experience of video editing before purchasing this program, and I must say that this program is very easy to use.

I have a laptop with a Centrino P1500-M with 512 MB RAM and 60GB harddisk, and this is very sufficient. The program functions very well and smoothly.

It was very easy to capture video from my Canon Elura 85, and the setup in the program itself makes everything very easy to work with. I've made 4 DVDs in a couple of days, with transitions, menus, added music, end credits, and such.

I highly recommend this program to anybody who is interested in using a home version of video editing.5 stars (Great all-in-one product) - I have had Adobe Premiere Elements 1.0 for a few weeks now, and I am very happy with it. It does everything I would want to turn my home video into DVDs: Capture the video directly from my camcorder, edit the video, author the DVD, and finally burn the DVD. I found working with it very easy. It came with an introduction DVD. After watching it (about 1/2 hour in length I think), I was ready to make my first DVD.

Adobe Premiere Elements 1.0 only works with a firewire cable. My camcorder supports both USB and firewire, and other video applications work fine over USB, but Adobe Premiere Elements 1.0 requires you to use a firewire cable.

It won't let you burn dual-layer (8GB) DVDs. Only 4.7GB DVDs can be burned. It also won't burn VCDs or SVCDs. However, you can output your video to MPEG, QuickTime, or Windows Media and burn it in another program.

The DVD menus you can create are somewhat limited. You cannot do all the cool things you see in commercial DVDs. However, for home video, Adobe Premiere Elements 1.0 does what you need: Simple menus with "Play All" and "Select Scene" options.

For the money, this is the best home video program I have found.3 stars (Big Problems... At first) - I gave this a 3 star because of all the problems I had before I was able to finally burn a DVD with this program. After I had mastered it, I should give it a 5 star.
It all began when the program would not recognize my 2 LG 16x burners. Solved this by downloading new firmware. Second problem was after spending 10 hours putting together a project it would not burn, as it kept going into error after 1 hour and 30 minutes assembling the info. I read on a review that this problem might be caused by there being no burn speed set control in the program so you would be forced to use a DVD with the same burn speed as your burner. i.e. 8x burner with 8x disk. So I spend 3 days looking for 16x minus (program seems to only recognize minus). Problem still persisted. Then I went into Adobe site and went through all of their recommendations to no avail. Another 5 days gone. Finally, while playing with pop up menu's I found "delete unused tracks". After doing that the rain stopped, the sun came out, the birds started singing and the darn program burned my disk. Lucky for me I didn't follow some of the advise on the internet from reviewers that said "wait for the next release, this one has too many problems". I just hate giving up on a problem.
